deep coma refers to the most serious disorder of consciousness in clinical practice, mainly caused by brain herniation caused by cerebral hemorrhage, severe craniocerebral injury, and large-scale cerebral infarction. in a deep coma, the pupils will be dilated and the breathing rhythm will be unstable or even disappear. the hazards of secondary complications for long-term coma patients mainly include:
1. pulmonary infection: because patients in deep coma do not cough voluntarily or cough voluntarily very poorly, the secretions produced will be deposited in the lungs, causing accumulation pneumonia;
2. pressure ulcers: for patients with long-term coma, long-term bed rest, especially ischemia caused by long-term pressure on the sacrococcyx, pressure ulcers are very difficult to heal and often very serious;
3. malnutrition: patients with long-term bed rest and coma have gastrointestinal disorders. even if they are given a normal calorie supply every day, severe malnutrition will still occur due to poor absorption function.
